04 January 2010
Apeer door slabs are now available to suit all profile systems
Forward looking architects and fabricators will now be able to extend their size options and add another eco-material to door specifications. The longevity, stability, safety and security aspects of New World's top-of-the-range composite door system, Apeer, have been further boosted by a new inner frame.
To allow Apeer doors to fit into ANY profile system and enhance its eco credentials, the steel reinforced PVC frame has been replaced with a completely recyclable structural styrene material. Looking like wood, New World is able to router the material to any size before bonding on the famous Apeer GRP skins and adding the high density foam. This advanced, composite door, also available with a Kitemark option, now gives fabricators many more opportunities to offer the best residential entrance on the market.
New World is constantly researching ways of improving the quality of its products and as manufacturing and materials technology evolves, new iniatives are introduced to the production process . The new material has many benefits – apart from being environmentally friendly, it is totally inert and UV stable. The frame material is completely waterproof and also flameproof, certified to achieve Class 1 spread of flame. Stronger than the best hardwoods, research has proved that the life-time cost of the structural styrene is lower than timber.
There is a strong market for Apeer door slabs. Fabricators want all the benefits of a maintenance-free, triple-glazed and double-rebated door, which has been tested to the highest standard, but then like to finish off the door add their own ironmongery. This is an excellent arrangement for customer and supplier as New World is able to offer shorter lead times and the fabricator can add distinctive fixings to suit the householders budget and taste.
No other company in the UK market can offer such a complete door entry system as is found with Apeer. The first composite doorset to be awarded Kitemark accreditation, its strong, timber-like skins and mouldings on Apeer visually sets it apart. Most companies can only offer a single rebate construction, but New World can offer both double rebate or single. A double rebate door is a superior product which, among other things, offers better draught restriction. French-style, double-opening doorsets are also available and for multi-residential use Isolate is a complete fire door range. Additionally, sidelights and headlights - arched, or with an apex, complete with decorative glass units, are all manufactured in-house. New World can arch the top of the door frame inhouse too.
The triple glazed cassette of Apeer which is impossible to remove externally, has a discrete internal trim which blends in with the rest of the door skin, but yet can be deglazed quite simply. The encased decorative glass on both sides offers enhanced security and is easily cleaned. For the doors as well as the frames, New World offers the complete RAL colour range on one, or both sides. There is a 10 year guarantee on all doors including black.
