'Apeerance' on DIY SOS with Nick Knowles

 

New World's leading edge range of composite doorsets  - the Apeer 70 - has been showcased on primetime national television, thanks to Devon-based doors and glazing specialists Duralife.

Directors at the company spotted an ad in their local paper asking for help with a local building project being filmed for the popular DIY SOS programme.  Starring Nick Knowles, the 'property transformation' show steps in to help DIY desperadoes who find themselves in dire straights.

 

As a result of Duralife's help with the project, an Apeer 70 main entrance system and back-of-house stable door were seen in the episode screened on BBC 1 on August 16. The two new doorsets were among a host of improvements made to a family home in Ottery-St-Mary near Honerton in Devon where a major DIY project had ground to a halt. It left the Wrights, a family of five, effectively living on a building site.

 

“In total we supplied five or six windows, the two Apeer 70 doorsets and a bi-folding window for the project,” said Duralife director Lance Wilkins. “The family was sent away for eight days while all the work was done and returned to find their home completely transformed. It was a great project to work on and a lot of other local builders and tradesmen were involved too.

 

“We have worked with New World for the past five years and Apeer 70 has been a very good seller for us. We have three teams of installers and most of our work is at the quality end of the market, mainly covering Devon and Somerset but further afield on recommendations.”

 

New World's Apeer 70 range of composite doors has set new standards in safety and insulation thanks to its unique construction. By incorporating a fibre glass door sash, U-values have been dramatically reduced and doorsets demonstrate zero to negative expansion of heat.
